Syrah / Tannat
91 points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Agenda is the longest running wine in our program, with the 2018 vintage marking our 4th release of this Syrah / Tannat blend from Sierra Pelona Valley AVA. While previous versions of Agenda have leaned towards restraint and elegance, the '18 is completely untethered, and shows a broader, more powerful side of Los Angeles Syrah. The 2018 is 91% Syrah and 9% Tannat, aged 29 months in French oak, 100% new. 26 cases produced.
Decadent aromas of candied raspberries, boysenberry, and ripe red currants emerge from the glass, swirled in tobacco, cocoa, and Agenda's hallmark boxwood. Blistered, ripe berries and dark sundae drizzle coat the palate, which is plush and full. Rich, firm tannins, backed up by generous acidity stretch out the dark fruit finish, as backing spice and chocolate linger and linger.
